We decided to catch the Vline train from Tarneit to Southern Cross as it is a short walk from home & a short walk to the hotel. We left our bags at the hotel then started the afternoon by catching a tram to Brunswick to the @Noisy Ritual winery. It was very nice & a surprise to find in the city. We had dinner at federation square at a restaurant called "arintji and the food was delicious & the service was excellent. We then went onto the Julia Morris show which was quite entertaining & funny. Then finally a comfy sleep at the Langham Hotel & breakfast at Soho in Southbank.
Melbourne is amazing. I love every aspect; the people, the food, the transport and the weather!! Everything is easily accessible through the city including wifi, information and coffee!! I definitely recommend going to Euro Lane cafe in Degraves Lane, seriously the kindest people and the best coffee. I loved the museums, galleries and laneway art, Union and Hosier Lane along with the Melbourne Museum, Immigration Museum and film museum (across from Flinders Street Station) are my top picks for tourist things to do in Melbourne. The zoo was amazing but definitely give yourself more than 3 hours as I did. For accomodation, Econolodge City Square on Swanston Street is amazing. The staff were very helpful and although it isn't amazing the accommodation provided everything I needed, which really was just a place to sleep and store my things. They also hold your bags for free until your flight. The SkyBus do trips from the airport and will drop you outside of your hotel. I will definitely be back in town soon Melbourne!!
I took my family to Melbourne to the laneways of Melbourne to shop and eat and discover . Ibis (Victoria hotel) on litre Collins was perfect as we could walk to all the places we wanted to visit easily then return to a clean and comfortable room to relax.
Went for the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo on Saturday night. Also Chinese New Year, Valentine's weekend and the annual St Kilda Festival. Accommodation was very scarce and prices were highly inflated. Public transport and taxi system in Melbourne coped admirably with the huge influx of visitors and tourists. The weather was perfect and not a protest about anything in sight. I travelled alone but had no occasion to be fearful walking back to a different accommodation on three other nights. Thankfully, I was able to alter my return flight date and time so treated myself, my son's idea, to just one night at the Crown Towers. We're both going in the winter Uni holidays.
We loved our accommodation at Hotel Sophia. Wonderful staff and rooms cleaned everyday. Great food in Melbourne. We loved the MCG tour and than Sports Museum the best. Spent the whole day there. highly recommend.
Stayed at Mercure on Albert Park. Had dinner at The Elephant & Wheelbarrow which is a short 10 minute walk to St Kilda. The buffet breakfast at the hotel was well priced and served the best scrambled eggs I've ever eaten. The movie I had paid for didn't work but this was fixed and sorted within five minutes. The Mercure will be my go-to accomodation for all future trips to Melbourne.
Good location(very close to Melbourne central station and it is located within the free-zoom area which means you can take free bus 35 and free trams to most of the attractions in the CBD area), clean and new apartment, helpful staff, check-in instruction will be given a day before checkin via message. There are a plenty of restaurants located around the apartments. If you want to cook by yourself, dining sets, kitchen wares, teas and coffees are all provided. The price is affordable compared to other accomodations in CBD.
First of all the check in process was super easy and the staff were really friendly. I got a studio which was on the 28th floor and had a nice view overlooking a bit of the parliament and its surrounding gardens. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. The hotel is close enough to the very heart of the CBD (Swanston st??) without the noise and crowds. 5 mins walk to Chinatown, 8 mins to Emporium and Melbourne Central, overall very well located if you’re after something that’s super close but not too crowded.
The bed was extremely comfortable , the pillows soft & the bedroom very quiet & dark so it was easy to sleep. Everything was very clean throughout with all facilities needed for a comfortable stay. The mantra is in a great location in the CBD . We have stayed in a lot of places in Melbournes CBD & Mantra is probably one of the best located apartments. Cafes, restaurants & shops are right on its doorstep. We will probably choose Mantra again when we are next in Melbourne.
Excellent Location in heart of CBD ..easy travel with free tram access right out front of Apartments and Finders St Station & DFO acorss the St. Great position to attend business engagements in CBD. Reception Staff welcoming and knowledgeable about the servuce they provide. Hotel staff wonderful and attentive. Restaurant attached to hotel .. excellent food and servuce. Hotel appartment very appointed and comfortable. would certainly recommend this hotel to others.
Modern, self contained apartments close to Southbank.....with good security. Great kitchen with oven, stove and microwave and hideaway washer and dryer for all your laundry needs. Easy access to public transport. Variety of shops and eateries locally to explore....however providing a small map of Melbourne CBD would have been great to help us navigate around. Staff are really friendly, helpful and efficient in accommodating any needs that may arise.
Property is excellent. It’s not a hotel so there is no hotel conveniences like luggage storage or room service but we quickly got over that. Run by Southbank Apartments; their mobile concierge service was friendly and efficient. Right opposite Crown casino with an amazing view of the flames at night and Melbourne Yarra and out to the bay. Right in the restaurant hub, Terrific location. Apartment was very spacious with comfy queen bed.
The Crown Metropol has always been our favourite hotel in Melbourne, but as we now live in the UK this was our first stay in 4 years. We are so pleased that the standards remain exceptionally high at this Hotel, and exceeded expectations on our return. Fantastic rooms with incredible views of the city, top quality facilities and the CBD on your doorstep, what’s not to like? Thanks Crown Metropol, we’ll be back.
This place is very convenient to walk around and also easy to off to CBD. Located close to tram stops and train stations. There are plenty of cozy cafes, restaurants, pretty shops, sophisticated market, you name it. The hotel staff members are really friendly and helpful. The room is fully equipped and spacious. I truly enjoyed staying in this place.
This hotel is incredibly near the CBD, so it is convenient to catch a tram to travel or simply walk to must-to-see points. Space hotel has good room’s facility and good services and also has beautiful view to CBD on the roof top. It is great to have free access to gym, cinema, and kitchen (where cafe and tea are free).
We love the little Punthill apartments and always stay here when ever we have to go to the Melbourne CBD. The facilities are fantastic, as are the staff. We always have a clean and comfortable stay in a fully equipped apartment for hotel prices.
Double bedroom apartment was fairly large compared to a lot of other apartments in Melbourne CBD. Added bonus of having a kitchenette with cooktop. Location is quiet for Melbourne CBD but still well positioned and close to many attractions.
The hotel was well-located for restaurants and public transit. Within walking distance of the St. Kilda Beach. We had absolutely no difficulty getting into Melbourne CBD.
The only good thing about this place is the location - it’s very close to the Southern Cross station and Melbourne CBD. The rest was a pretty horrible experience!
Clean, modern, comfortable and close to CBD, friendly efficient service. Tyrian Apartments has just become my Melbourne accomodation every time I’m in town.
Clean, comfortable, great location in the CBD! Friendly and helpful staff, would definitely recommend. Great place to stay in Melbourne!
This is a high-end business type hotel adjacent to the Melbourne CBD. It was very clean, quiet and commodious if a little soulless.
lovely view middle of Melbourne CBD, and the staff is very nice and always go out of the way to help.
Larger than most cbd apartments - two bathrooms handy for travel with older kids
Good location and pretty spacious for a 2-bedroom in Melbourne CBD
Location, cleanliness, view! I love everything about this apartment! Superb!
